Pom-Focus is a web application that helps college students stay focused on their assignments. It's a tool that allows them to set up the time and day they want to work on their homework, then Pom-Focus will take care of the rest.
Many college students with ADHD attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder find themselves struggling to stay focused in school. This is a problem that has been around for years, but the issue has been exacerbated by the distractions that exist today.
Nowadays, there are many distractions around every corner. Not many college students don't know or understand what ADHD is. From social media to text messages, it can be hard to focus on what you need to do. As a result, many college students find themselves struggling with the ability to stay focused in school and complete their assignments on time.
A web app that can help college students to stay focus by providing them with a timer, this app will have a timer that can be set for 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes or more. Have available information and resources about ADHD to help college students understand more about it.
ADHD stands for is attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and is one of many conditions that fall within the spectrum of neurodiversity. Not everyone with the condition experiences hyperactivity in the classical sense and refers to it instead as ADD (or “inattentive type ADHD”). It was first diagnosed as far back as the early 1900s but got its name in the 1980s, and what we know about the condition continues to change drastically.
College students with ADHD face unique challenges — increased academic and social demands; diminished support; and elevated risk for anxiety, stress, and mood disorders — that often lead to adverse outcomes. College students diagnosed with ADHD that has difficulties with aspects of learning such as staying on-task, focusing, prioritizing and organizing.

A according to PubMed Central College students with ADHD can exhibit less confidence in their academic ability, often receive lower grades than peers.
According to CNBC ADHD diagnoses have been increasing in adults since before the days of social media. The number of ADHD diagnoses in 2010 were almost five times what they were in 1999, and between 2007 and 2016, the number of diagnoses of ADHD in adults more than doubled.
25% of college students have five major difficulties and barriers of self-discipline in people struggling with ADHD
I was able to conduct a user survey from 16 college students and 1 : 1 user interviews with five college students that have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to ask them about their issues with concentrating, focusing, time management, and knowledge about ADHD.
From those findings I've found five major difficulties and barriers of self-discipline in college students struggling with ADHD
After completing the interviews I wrote down all of the responses on sticky notes and began to group them based on topics: user motivation, needs, and behaviors.
I've considered eight features I could offer in the web app based on the key finding from the online survey study and arrange them according to value and complexity in order to prioritize which features to implement first

After completing the user research and analysis, I've started creating the wireframes and prototype it. I've created a couple of wireframes for the web app. The wireframes are used to illustrate how the user interface will look like, what features will be available on the web app and how they are organized. I'm also working on a prototype which is used to demonstrate how interactions with the web app happen.
I wanted to create a web app that would help people with their anxiety. After the wireframes, I used the colors from the color palette to add some minimalistic calmness to the design. The colors are not too distracting and will not make it difficult for people with anxiety to use the web app. Then I was able to create a prototype for usability testing. This helped me to work out any kinks in my design before it was finalized so that it would be easy to use for everyone who uses it.
The goals of this testing were to see if the users found it easy to navigate and understand, and if they had any difficulties using it. After conducting the usability testing, the participants found it easy to navigate and understand. They also did not have any difficulties using it.
The feedbacks that the participants gave were mostly positive. They found the web app Pom-Focus to be helpful and easy to use.
After all the user research and testing, we were able to come up with a final design for our Pom-Focus. The design is simple and minimalistic.
I have learned many things from this project. I have learned how to work with user experience and what it takes to make a design better. I have also learned how to think about the user and their needs. It's been a great experience interviewing college students in this class. I've learned so much about what they go through when doing their assignments. It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one who struggles with it.
I think that I would like to work on the statistics page more for my final thoughts because it would be a great way to show college students how much productivity they can get out of using the Pom-Focus
